The $8,000 First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit Has Been EXTENDED!
(Under certain circumstances)

For most Americans, the $8,000 First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit expired on April 30, 2010.

But for certain ACTIVE DUTY PERSONNEL, the credit has been extended for one year!

To qualify for this extension, you need to have been deployed out of the country for a period of 90 days or more between Dec. 31, 2008 and May 1, 2010. This applies to most active duty military. If you qualify, you now have until April 30, 2011 to get under contract on a home, and then until June 30, 2011 to close the transaction. (But don't put it off. The sooner you buy, the sooner you'll get your money!)
 
This is GREAT NEWS for a couple of reasons.   
First, you may still be able to get $8,000 simply for buying a first home (or up to $6,500 if you are a repeat buyer). And secondly, you will not be competing against all the other homebuyers who flooded the market at the end of April, 2010, trying to buy anything just so they could get the credit. This drove up prices and created a lot of artificial competition for the good properties. But now it's a lot easier to negotiate a great price, with great terms.

Sellers NEED your offers, so this is the time to strike! And the sooner you start looking for a home, the sooner you'll get your $8,000! Wouldn't that make a nice Christmas present?
